My first completed work after design from Clara Wæver, an old design, off the production since ages and not found in Eva Rosenstand’s catalogues.
Clara Wæver, N 2-2116 K, year unknown, but before 1963, were the first Eva Rosenstand’s catalogs were published.
I was lucky to have found this started kit during one of my treasure hunts and just wanted to stitch it for this Easter. Bright colours of Easter hen with her lovely little chicken stitched on linen with what I believe is Anchor embroidery floss, though nothing is specified in the pattern. Stitched on vintage linen with vintage threads – years did not leave any marks on their quality or colours.
One hen was partially stitched by the unknown needlewoman; the second hen and the middle part with three eggs – by me, let’s say – 55 years later?
Stitched, edges not sewn and will not be this Easter – but washed and ironed it will decorate Easter table tomorrow.
